FILING FEE:

$500 (non-refundable).  Filing fee is paid directly to the Center and are due with submission of your Request for Mediation. Typically, the initiating party advances the filing fee. As a courtesy, your mediator will adjust the mediation fees as provided below.

MEDIATOR FEES:

Our mediators agree to charge $200 per hour for the first two (2) hours of billable mediator time.  Mediators will charge their hourly rate thereafter.  A minimum of four (4) hours of mediation time is required, unless otherwise noted in the fee and policy schedule. Mediation fees are paid directly to the mediator, and your mediator will provide you with payment procedure information as part of the scheduling process.

Each mediator on the panel is an independent contractor and sets his/her own hourly rates.  Hourly rates and filing fees are split equally among the parties or per agreement. The mediator's invoice for their services will adjust the fees paid by the parties to increase the amount due by the responding party by half the filing fee ($250) and apply this amount as a credit to the initiating party to offset their advancement of the filing fee.  It is the sole responsibility of the initiating party to timely note any errors in the mediator billings and no reimbursement of filing costs will be made by the mediator.

In general, Center mediators provide scheduling, local travel and preparation time without charge for up to two hours. The first 2 hours of billable mediator time will be $200 per hour and the mediator’s hourly rate thereafter. The parties and their counsel are encouraged to independently coordinate their availability for mediation to avoid incurring excess fees. There may be additional preparation fees for complex disputes (e.g., disputes arising from a non-standard C.A.R. agreement, or disputes that require extensive review of documents). Most mediators require full payment of their hourly rate for the minimum mediation time prior to securing the mediation date.

CANCELLATION/CONTINUANCE FEES:

$250 for cancellation or continuance notices received by the mediator after the mediation date is reserved by the mediator and confirmed with all parties.  Fee to be paid to the mediator by the party requesting cancellation or continuance unless otherwise agreed to by the parties.

$500 for cancellation or continuance notices received by the mediator three (3) calendar days or less prior to the scheduled date for the mediation.  Fee to be paid to the mediator by the party requesting cancellation or continuance unless otherwise agreed to by the parties.

NOTE:  Each mediator on our panel is an independent contractor and is permitted to have and enforce written cancellation and continuance policies that are different from the above if the mediator provides such policies to the parties in advance of scheduling the mediation.  

Notices of cancellation/continuance must be submitted in writing directly to the mediator.

DEPOSITS:

A deposit equal to a minimum of four mediation hours is required by most mediators on the panel.  All deposits are paid directly to the mediator.
